Privacy Policy

Morrocco Media ("we", "us", "our") is a video production agency based in Perthshire, Scotland. Morrocco Media is a trading name of Dr Stefan Morrocco, who is the data controller for the information described here. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect personal information when you use this website or contact us. We are committed to handling your data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Information we collect
When you submit our contact form we collect the information you provide: your name, email address, organisation (if given), the type and description of your project, and your approximate budget. We collect this solely to respond to your enquiry and to discuss a potential commission.
Like any website, this site is served through a hosting provider that records technical information such as your IP address in its server logs. That happens for every visitor and is a normal part of delivering a website securely.
How your information is used
We use the information you give us only to respond to your enquiry, to provide quotes and to manage any project we agree to undertake. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for marketing without your consent.
Our lawful basis for processing
Where you contact us about a project, we process your information on the basis of our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and running the business, and, once a commission is agreed, in order to perform our contract with you. Where we set analytics cookies, we do so only on the basis of your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
Form handling
Our contact form is processed by a third-party form provider (Formspree), which forwards submissions to us by email. Your submission is subject to that provider's own privacy practices in addition to this policy.
Video, fonts and hosting
Our films are hosted on Vimeo and shown here through Vimeo's player. On pages where you press play to watch a film, Vimeo may set cookies and collect data about that playback under its own privacy policy. The silent background film on our home page, and the short previews that appear when you hover over a project, are loaded with Vimeo's "do not track" setting enabled, which asks Vimeo not to track the session or set tracking cookies for those clips. Project thumbnails are served from a related Vimeo image service.
The typefaces used on this site are served from our own domain rather than from a font provider's network. Displaying text therefore involves no third party and sends nothing about you to one.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and Cloudflare acts as our hosting and security provider. Cloudflare processes technical data, including IP addresses, in order to serve the site and protect it from abuse.
Some of these providers, including Formspree, Vimeo and Cloudflare, are based outside the UK or may process data outside it. Where that happens, those transfers rely on the providers' own safeguards for international data transfers. Google receives data only if you accept analytics cookies.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use this site, for example, which pages are viewed and how people arrive. This helps us improve the website. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and processes data such as your approximate location, device and browsing activity on this site.
These analytics cookies are only set if you accept them. When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or decline. No analytics cookies are placed unless you choose "Accept." You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the footer, or by clearing this site's data in your browser. You can also install Google's opt-out browser add-on.
We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first service that measures overall site traffic without using cookies and without collecting personal data or building visitor profiles. Because it sets no cookies and does not track individuals, it runs for all visitors and requires no consent.
Data retention
We keep enquiry information only for as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry and to fulfil any resulting project, after which it is deleted or archived securely.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to request its correction or deletion, to object to or restrict its processing, and to ask for a copy of it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority for data protection, at ico.org.uk. We would ask that you raise it with us first so we have the chance to put it right.
