Fresh Air Business Micro-Adventures

Business networking usually happens in a room with a lanyard and a coffee. The Fresh Air Leadership Company runs it as a short outdoor journey instead, on the reasonable theory that people talk differently when they are walking side by side rather than facing each other across a table.

This film follows a group on a micro-adventure near Banchory in Aberdeenshire. The challenge in filming it is that the product is the conversation, and conversation on the move is the hardest thing on a shoot to capture honestly. Point a camera at two people talking and they stop talking, or worse, they perform. Most of the useful material comes from staying far enough back that the group forgets the camera is working, then closing in only once something is genuinely underway.

At just under three minutes it has room to let the day settle rather than cutting on every beat, which matters for an event whose whole proposition is that it is unhurried.
